Bio

Adeline (Addie) was born and raised in Darien, Connecticut. She then moved to Boston to pursue her undergraduate degree in chemistry at Northeastern University. During her time as an undergraduate, her academic research included bioanalytical chemistry research with Dr. Susan Abbatiello and chemical biology research with Dr. Penny Beuning. She participated in Northeastern’s co-op program, working in industry as a medicinal chemist at Morphic Therapeutic (now Eli Lilly) and as a process chemist at Takeda. Upon completion of her Bachelor’s degree, she moved on to become a medicinal chemist at Novartis, focusing on small molecule drug discovery to treat neurodegenerative diseases. She moved from the Boston area to UCSB to pursue a PhD in organic chemistry in the Lipshutz group.

In her free time, Addie enjoys cooking, surfing, yoga, going to concerts, and spending time with friends.
